Class & Homework Policy:
Assignments must be turned in on time (exceptions will be made only for family emergencies, illness, etc., with a written note by a parent/guardian).
2. Absent students will be responsible for finding out the assignments for the day(s) he/she missed. Homework may also be requested to be sent down to the office for pick up to ensure missed work is completed.
3. Daily homework assignments are to be placed in the respective trays during morning check-in.
4. Independent reading (30 minutes) is part of the students’ daily homework. Students are encouraged to read chapter books at his/her appropriate reading level, and should be finishing at least 2 books per quarter. This will help students develop an appreciation of reading and improve their reading skills.
5. Assignments will be copied into planners and signed by a parent/guardian every night. This will provide a communication system between school and home on a daily basis.
6. Phone calls home will be made if assignments are not being turned in consistently to inform parents of student progress.

I assign homework to provide an opportunity to practice what is taught in class.

- Show the title or subject of assignment on the first line of the paper
- Be neat and legible
- Display quality work
- If assignments do not meet the above expectations, work will be returned and redone.
- These expectations are to help each student acquire the habit of striving for excellence 100% of the time
